This temple is
located in Bovikan, a small village 16 kms from Kasaragod (on Kasaragod - Mysore Road)
which has only three G.S.B. families. The temple was established on 4th April 1968 by Shri
Ganapati Prabhu with the blessings of Shrimat Sudhindra Tirtha Swamiji of Kashi Mutt
Samsthan.
It is a rare gsb temple where the presiding deity
is Lord Shri Nagaraj, the serpent god. Naga Darshan Seva (Oracle) was started with
the blessings of H. H. Srimat Sudhindra Tirtha Swamiji in 1970, when Shri Swamiji renamed
this place as SHRI NAGARAJ NAGAR. |

 The temple has a "Nagaban
Udbhava Stana" of Lord Nagaraj. It has devotees of other communities also who
participate in all activities. This temple an important place for Sarpa Dosha
Nivarana and Santati Pradanam place which means if one has the curse from serpents he will
be released of the curse. For childless couples, it brings forth children too.
During the 5 days Devaprasna held in the temple
in 1972, it was revealed that about 800 years ago this was a place of worship but was
destroyed by non-believers.
