Shree Venugopala Krishna Swamy temple is located in Chennamangalam (earlier known as Jayantha mangalam), about 5 km from North Parur. The main deity here is Venugopalakrishna Swamy. This temple was established in 1900 AD.

Devatha & Upadevatha

The main deity here is that of Shri Venugopala Krishna, made of granite (Shilpa Vighraha). There is also an Utsav Vighraha of Shree Venugopala Krishna.

Inside the Nalambalam, on the South-West corner, Ganapathy is installed facing the north. In the North-West corner of the Nalambalam facing the east, a prathista of Raja Gopala Swamy with Rukmini and Satyabhama on both the side is installed.


Before this temple was built the local GSB’s had to be depended on the nearby Paravoor Temple for their religious needs. The local resident’s indomitable dedication and efforts resulted in the erection of this temple.

The local GSB community of the place, under Chennoth Parambil Shri Das Yogya Prabhu the land for the temple was bought and donated to the temple. Then with liberal donations from the local communities the temple was buit.

A temple facing east, Agrasalas and beautiful Gopuram were constructed very well. The Prathista took place on the auspicious day of Rohini Nakshtra i.e. 19th Medom month of 1075 A.D (30-4-1900).

Arratu Festivals

A six day annual Arratu Festival is conducted every year, concluding on the Rohini Nakshaktra of the Vaisakha moth. The daily poojas and annual festivals are all celebrated, without failure in a good manner.
